The Art of Speaking
Voice work for groups and organisations
Voice / Art of Speaking workshops are designed for small groups, organisations and workplaces wanting to develop practical skills in voice use and public speaking. Each workshop is shaped around the desired outcomes of the group and offers a safe, enriching and transformative space to explore how voice, body and communication work together.
Sessions can suit teams who present, teach, facilitate, lead, perform or simply want to communicate with greater clarity, ease and confidence.
What the workshop can explore
- Fundamental vocal anatomy. An introduction to how the voice functions, its structures and its relationship to the body and its systems.
- Developing resonance. Using Alexander Technique and brain-based voice principles to explore tone, volume and resonance through the body.
- Practising articulation. Developing efficient articulation for greater clarity and ease in being understood.
- Tools for anxiety and stage fright. Practical approaches that support regulation of the nervous, hormonal and musculoskeletal systems under pressure.
- Identifying your own “attractor state”. Becoming aware of habitual patterns in voice use and how factors such as dialect, accent, health and gender can influence them.
Tailored to your group
Workshops can be adapted for small or large groups and designed around the communication demands of your workplace or organisation. The emphasis may shift toward public speaking, presentation confidence, vocal stamina, articulation, embodied presence or a broader understanding of healthy and effective voice use.
Contact the school with your group size, context and desired outcomes and Jessie can shape an appropriate workshop format.
